My fitness journey began after my second child was born. I never really got into sports growing up as a child, so decided to start with running. My casual neighborhood runs quickly turned into participating in organized races, and eventually into half and even a full marathon. I always supplemented my running with other forms of training such as light strength, Insanity and P90X. I tried CrossFit at the suggestion of a friend and really enjoyed it, but didn’t return to it until a year later.
I have been doing CrossFit since the Fall of 2011 and it’s been amazing to see the progress. Even when there’s a WOD that is extremely challenging and I have a tendency to get down on myself, I try to remember where I started when I couldn’t climb a rope or do a pull up. That’s what I love about CrossFit anyone who is willing to do the work can succeed. I still have a long way to go but I’m enjoying the journey with a bunch of other great people by my side to help cheer each other on.
