I have lived in Colorado all of my life and feel so fortunate to call this state home! My husband, son and I enjoy all of the typical Colorado stuff; skiing, hiking, fishing, biking…really anything that gets us outside! I started Crossfit almost 2-years ago in order to augment my triathlon training. I have raced multi-sport for years, completing over 30 triathlons of various distances. I loved the training and the challenge of becoming efficient in three disciplines; swimming, biking and running. The challenge of a fast sprint triathlon, pushing myself hard for an hour, or the mental and physical challenge of the Ironman distance triathlon, where you work steadily for 12-14 hours, has always been what drives me.
I went to my first Crossfit class with a friend while I was out of town for work. I figured that I would have no problem with the WOD since I had just completed a full Ironman, lifted free weights regularly, and taught various aerobics classes for years. I was SOOOOOO wrong! I got destroyed that first day, and was very humbled by the fact that I could run a marathon, but I couldn’t do a single pull-up. I signed up at Anchor as soon as I got back, and have been loving every minute since that day.
Crossfit makes you a complete athlete that is capable of accomplishing any challenge life throws at you. Regardless of your fitness level when you walk through the door, you will improve your stamina and strength, learn some great new skills, and meet some of the most fantastic people you could ask to know!
